Country: Nicaragua,
Type: Environment & Wildlife Conservation, Humanitarian & Community Development , IT & Journalism, Medical & Health Care, Working with children,

Spend 8 or 13 weeks based on one of our community, environment or adventure projects in the lush surrounding of Costa Rica & Nicaragua. You could be helping to conserve the natural biodiversity of Costa Rica's national parks or in the far north of Nicaragua on a trek tackling the slopes of the Maribios volcano chain with spectacular views over Lake Managua before descending for a day's recuperation at a crater lake.

Two countries, one expedition! Apply as a volunteer manager today and you could be spend your summer supporting young people on sustainable development projects in two countries in Central America.

We have a variety of roles available. You could either be based on one of our community, environment or adventure projects, working directly with 17-24 year olds or you could work to support the safe and sustainable delivery of our expeditions from our local headquarters.

If you are in a project based role you could work on an environmental project, helping to protect Costa Rica’s national parks or raise awareness of hygiene issues to locals on a community project in Nicaragua or trek from one side of Costa Rica to the other on the adventure phase

If you opt for a support role in our headquarters, you will work alongside our permanent country staff with other team members. You will still get the opportunity to visit our projects sites, visiting parts of the country never accessed by tourists and meeting local communities.

Please see below for a list of the opportunities available:

  • Project Managers
  • Adventure Project Managers (must be Mountain Leader qualified or have extensive experience in trekking or other outdoor activities)
  • Medics (doctors, nurses and paramedics who must have two years post qualification experience)
  • Administrators
  • Communications Officers
  • Logistics Coordinators
  • Photographers

Whatever your role, embark on a Raleigh expedition this summer and you will experience living and working in a dramatically different setting whilst improving the lives of others.
