Raleigh International is a sustainable development charity. We inspire young volunteers around the world to work alongside rural communities and environments to create positive long lasting change. Our programmes focus on increasing access to safe water and sanitation, protecting vulnerable environments and supporting communities’ livelihoods. We run our core expedition programme and are also one of the consortium of charities that run UK government funded programme International Citizen Service (ICS).
We run International Citizen Service in Nepal, Nicaragua and Tanzania. International Citizen Service (ICS) is a once-in-a-lifetime, UK government-funded programme providing volunteer placements to 18-25 year olds and Team Leader placements to 23-35 year olds.
It's a development programme that brings together young people from the UK and developing countries to volunteer in some of the poorest communities in Africa, Asia and Latin America.
UK volunteers work side-by-side with local volunteers in developing countries, staying with host families in the local community.
On a Raleigh ICS programme you will have the chance to volunteer on a water, sanitation and hygiene project or a livelihoods project support local entrepreneurs or social enterprises within the communities.
We are currently recruiting both volunteers (18 – 25) and Team Leaders (23 – 35) for our summer 2017 programmes. Apply today for this once in a lifetime opportunity.
