Who we are
Andreas KornevallCo-Founder and Director of VWIS/WorkingAbroad
Andreas has lived, worked and travelled extensively throughout the world. He grew up in a strong international setting, so the idea to set up a global service for people volunteering and travelling overseas came naturally to him. Andreas loves anything to do with the wilderness, and is passionate to talk about a sustainable future until the cows come home! Two of his strongest experiences whilst working as a volunteer occurred whilst fund-raising in a local Indian community in Kerala, and canoeing to work on the great lakes of Maine.
"Living in a local community and working there, trying to create relationships and establish goals was a very humbling experience, and exposes your weaknesses and pushes you to think about how you can create responsible and positive action for the future - I would recommend it to anyone, especially young people." He has great respect for indigenous beliefs, the Dalai Lama and loves to play the native American flute and percussion instruments. Andreas is also the Director of Operations for the Earth Restoration Service www.earthrestorationservice.org as well as the Founder of the Campaign to Restore the Earth: www.restore-earth.org
Vicky McNeil
Co-founder and Director of VWIS/WorkingAbroad
Vicky has a strong interest in travelling and visiting projects all over the world - her travels have taken her to the deep jungles of Swaziland and Malaysia, to the old growth forests in British Columbia and to the slums of New Delhi, Bangkok and Quito. Vicky is a listener and an excellent advisor to all those who have questions about volunteering abroad. She draws inspiration from her vegetable patch, bird watching, wildlife photography, dancing, languages, African drumming and her two little daughters Chloe and Rosie! Recently, she took a Firecraft course and learnt how to make fire through friction, a very useful skill in the wilderness!

I am also drawn to wild places, because they represent the preservation of the world!" Email: Victoria.McNeil@workingabroad.com
