InterExchange Work Abroad

 
InterExchange Work Abroad offers Teaching English placements in Madrid, Spain and Ghana, Africa.  Placements are informal English language teaching and tutoring programmes and no teaching certificate is required.  Both programmes include Host Family housing and meals making them a great opportunity to experience daily life and customs while living and working abroad.
 
Teaching English in Spain
Placements are available with host families in and around Madrid, Spain.  Participants provide 15 hours of English lessons and tutoring per week for their host family in exchange for room and board. Responsibilities include preparing lessons and helping the family with their English conversational skills.  Except for the required 15 hours per week of lessons, participants are free to sightsee, enjoy local culture, make new friends, and work on their own Spanish language skills.
 
Teaching English in Africa
Placements are available in Pre-Schools, Primary Schools and Libraries throughout Ghana, Africa and include host family housing, meals, airport pick-up and an orientation programme.  The orientation includes visits to the project sites and a week of in classroom training with a Ghanaian teacher so that participants can choose the programme they prefer.  Teaching English is the primary subject area, but participants can choose to teach math or a variety of other subjects.

InterExchange Work Abroad programmes include:
  • Placement with a carefully screened host family
  • Your own room and all meals with your host family
  • Pre-Departure and in-country assistance from InterExchange Work Abroad and their partner organisation in Spain
