Sunrise Projects organise volunteer placements all throughout China, all year round.
Volunteers can take part in:
- Conservation of the Giant Panda - The Giant Panda is one of the most endangered animals in the world. You can help in the conservation work of the Giant Panda by volunteering at the Bifengxia Panda Base in China.
- Sea turtle conservation - The slaughter and incidental capture of sea turtles are well known and serious threats throughout the South China Sea . In 1992, Chinese Government set the only sea turtle nature protection area in Haigui Bay, Huizhou City. Volunteers can work with Chinese sea turtle protectors and researchers to shelter the sea turtles.
- Teachin
g English - countries like China require that students take English lessons while in school. But, in many places, access to fluent English speakers is limited. Children in rural or impoverished schools must rely on the kindness of volunteers who travel around the globe to teach English in their schools. - Teaching English in a Special Needs School in Beijing - A comprehensive school for visually impaired students, which includes kindergarten for kids, special-needs class, primary and secondary schools , high school section.
- Medical programme - ranges from conducting medical research to providing non-medical care to patients, attending ward rounds and helping the nursing staff. The doctors and nurses with whom the volunteers work really enjoy the cultural exchange that is brought by the volunteers and are more than happy for you to be involved in most aspects of their work in the hospital.
Media & Journalism Project - If you are planning a gap year or career break and contemplating a job in journalism or the media, journalism abroad in China with Sunrise International can set you on the right track. - Business Experience Project - Due to China’s fastest economic growth over the last two decades and its recent accession to the World Trade Organization, this transition economy has become one of the largest open markets in the world. Future professional opportunities for those of you who have first-hand experience in China are envisioned.

Volunteers can join for 2 weeks upwards all year round. Prices range from 749 pounds for 2 weeks upwards and include all food, lodging and programme costs.
