Volunteer in Asia with Plan My Gap Year

Plan My Gap Year was born out of a frustration with the large price tag associated with structured volunteer programmes. Based on their own experience, they recognise the importance of doing something meaningful with your time abroad but understand how difficult, and potentially expensive, this can be to organise.

Volunteer Programmes
Plan My Gap Year support a number of grassroots projects across Asia. Programmes include:

• Community Outreach
• English Teaching
• Medical Internships
• NGO Volunteering
• Orphanage Work
• Teaching English to Buddhist Monks

You can volunteer from two weeks up to six months. There are two selected start dates each month for all programmes.

Programmes are based in the following locations:

• Cambodia (Phnom Penh, Siem Reap & Battambang)
• India (New Delhi NCR)
• Nepal (Kathmandu, Chitwan & Pokhara)
• Sri Lanka (Galle)
• Thailand (Chiang Mai)
• Vietnam (Hanoi)

Accommodation
Dependent on the project you will either stay at a guest house, with a host family, or at one of Plan My Gap Year’s volunteer houses. All accommodation has been carefully selected by PMGY UK and in-country staff. Whatever accommodation type you will stay in, Plan My Gap Year ensure there is always a good social element in place.

Volunteer Requirements
The minimum age requirement is 18 years of age. You will need to speak a good level of English and be open-minded and enthusiastic. Some of the programmes do require specific experience/qualifications.

Costs
Programme fees start from as little as £200 for two weeks. All funds paid to Plan My Gap Year are 100% Financially Protected by the Travel Trust Association and an ATOL license.

Further Details
You will be working at grassroots projects in some of the poorest areas across Asia. Volunteering alongside local people and fellow volunteers you will all work together to achieve a common goal.
