Programme Overview
Join the Macaw Release Programme in Costa Rica and help to breed and release critically endangered Scarlet and Great Green Macaws back into the wild. Opportunities available to work at the breeding centre and at three release sites throughout the country, all year round.
- You can join for 2 weeks up to 12 weeks for projects at the Breeding Centre
- You can join for 2 months up to 6 months for projects at a Release Site
Projects are available all year round and we have places all throughout 2013 and 2014 available.
Individuals, groups and students all welcome.
For volunteers at the breeding centre, the costs for food (3 meals a day), lodging in a homestay within the local community, programme materials and training start from £390. For volunteers at a release site, the cost for housing at the site, programme materials and training start from £615.
