Alicia Hargrave and her friends from southeastern Alberta, near Medicine Hat (a large cattle ranching area), and southwestern Saskatchewan write about their time spent in February 2006

"Hello Vicky!!!
We have returned to Canada after a great time in Costa Rica. Our time in Boruca was great.  Thank you for all you time in setting it up for us.  We were split between 3 families, all of which were excellent people.  We were able to interact a lot with them and also experience a lot of traditional foods.  Our time at the finca was really worthwhile.  We were able to prepare the foundation and wall supports so that the rancho was really for the wall planks by the time we left.  We were able to spend some time with Jose Carlos and Leyla which was really valuable.  We also met with them and their sons at their house in San Jose our last night in Costa Rica.  We have about $1000 more from our fundraising efforts and therefore they spoke with us about their plans for a drip irrigation demonstration project.  We will be happy to give that money to that cause.  Thanks again Vicky"

Sherry Levin, Administrative Coordinator, International Peace & Conflict Resolution MA Program, Aracadia University, USA, writes about their group visit of 15 students and staff May 2005:

"Querido Leyla and Jose Carlos (Project Managers),

Thanks you for your warm and gracious welcome.  The students truly enjoyed themselves and felt the time spent at the finca and in Boruka was the highlight of the trip. I have to admit I was a little worried about sleeping in the dorms but in the end I did just fine.  In fact I felt at peace there at the finca.  Having a chance to meet with members of the community was also very helpful in understanding the many perspectives and understanding the dynamics of the community."
