A beautiful image of a mountain glacier! This is the kind of breathtaking landscape you can expect to witness on our Iceland Wilderness Management Programme in Skaftafell National Park.
This project involves restoring and preserving the Skaftafell National Park. You can volunteer to help maintain trails, steps and bridges that have eroded over time. The maintaining of paths helps to protect the environment by discouraging hikers from trampling over habitats and species. Trails also ensure the safety of the visitors to the park.
This is a fantastic opportunity for anyone who wishes to work in a wilderness landscape, help with management of national parks and even to do practical research for a dissertation or a thesis. The landscapes volunteers work in during their stay are unrivaled, and so this opportunity may also serve as a spiritual journey in addition to a journey that enhances practical skills.
