Volunteering on our Community Development project offers a rewarding challenge. This is for volunteers who can connect the dots between issues and sees pictures where most people just see dots. You will use your operational, project management, communication and organisation skills in support of initiatives geared at creating real outcomes.
You will be volunteering across three key areas:
Good governance- Provide capacity training workshops for community groups, meet and plan with community groups to assist them in carrying out their activities.
Research – Create asset maps that highlight areas for improvement, look for and create bids for funding oppportunities.
Community Development- Everything from assisting groups with writing bid proposals, to partnering with like-minded organisations to deliver projects in areas such as health, conservation, agriculture

Both V2 and our partner organisation will support you throughout your placement. V2 conducts Health and Safety checks to ensure that volunteers are placed in a suitable and safe working environment. Our partner organisation will provide orientation and training sessions on arrival. Each volunteer will be assigned a Mentor/Project Supervisor. We ask that our volunteers have completed 1 year minimum at University level or equivalent years or have professional work experience.
You will gain practical experience in community development.
