We are looking for help caring for fosters dogs we take off the street in Bulgaria. Many of these dogs are nervous and need socialisation with both people and other dogs. Many have medical conditions requiring daily treatment. Volunteers need to be able to work on their as at times they will be left to care for dogs on their own and must be willing and able to give basic veterinary care (no training needed) such as medical baths, apply creams, wash wounds etc. Work will also involve helping with neutering projects around Bulgaria and helping at local shelters as well as helping in taking dogs directly off the street where needed. Would suit outgoing and friendly person, happy with their own company and able to cope with very hot temperatures in the summer and not be easily fazed by the Bulgarian way of life and traditions (or animal cruelty). Couples could also be accommodated. There is also scope for those interested and able to help build new kennels, renovate some old buildings to accommodate more dogs. There will be the opportunity for travel around Bulgaria.
Costs include accommodation in nicely renovated guest house with own bedroom, bathroom and kitchen/dining area and living room, transport from airport, 3 meals a day or food [food allowance] and any travel around Bulgaria and accommodation that may be required.
