Our workshop is located in a very rural village in the north of India, next to the city of Ranchi. Although weaving is part of India’s cultural heritage, this is not yet the case in Ranchi and certainly not for women. Many of the women in the area are poorly educated and very dependent on the income of their husbands or the meagre harvest they can collect. With your support we want to educate more women and expand our team in Ranchi! Can you cope with flexibility on the work floor and do you have quite a bit of patience? An eye for detail? Are you someone who can work independently and especially someone who can work quickly? And most of all, you’re open to cultural differences? Don’t hesitate to contact us! You will work together with Indra, our local Belgian employee who started the workshop, and her Indian team.
There will also be follow-up and coordination from Belgium and you can count on the support of our hand weaving expert Valerie. We offer you – A young, dynamic and challenging environment – The chance to contribute to sustainable international cooperation in India and the empowerment of underprivileged women. – Accommodation on site in a safe and pleasant area of Ranchi with internet.
