The ideal project if you are considering studying medicine or training in a medical field. Gain valuable experience working in local hospitals and clinics on a variety of wards and learn about the issues faced within hospitals in West Africa.
In Ghana, access to basic healthcare is one of the most challenging issues facing low-income populations. The large majority of patients arrive due to illnesses related to poor sanitation. Malaria is also a huge issue and remains the cause of many illnesses and deaths. Interns on our medical program will have the opportunity to gain first-hand experience in the Ghanaian health care system. You will work alongside doctors, nurses and the local staff at the hospitals and clinics to provide quality care to patients.
If you want to build upon your previous experience, or gain hands-on career experience to help get into medical school this is the best project for you.
We require all volunteers wishing to participate in this programme to send us a CV with a detailed description of all relevant medical experience.
