WHO IS CONCORDIA ?
Concordia is a charity committed to international volunteering as a means to promoting intercultural understanding and peace. When you take part in a volunteering project through Concordia, you can be sure you’ll be making a real difference to a community, and to yourself. For 70 years now, we’ve provided volunteering and work opportunities overseas and here in the UK. Today we work with 80 like minded, non-profit partner organisations from 60 countries, to offer medium and short term community volunteering, around the world.
WHAT KIND OF PROJECTS ARE THERE?
Projects are open to volunteers aged 18+, with a selection of projects available for teenagers aged 16 and 17. Types of international volunteer projects include conservation, restoration, archaeology, construction, arts, children’s play-schemes and teaching.
Projects last for 2-4 weeks with the main season from June to September. Volunteers pay a registration fee between £200 and £250 and fund their own travel and insurance.
Board and accommodation is free of charge for projects in Europe (except in Iceland), North America, Japan and South Korea.
WHAT OUR VOLUNTEERS SAY
"I had a fantastic time, most defiantly the best thing I've ever done. I've met some fantastic people who I'm still on contact with, and they shall be visiting me very soon. I've learn't a lot about other peoples cultures, and can now say some handy things in many languages. I cried on the journey home, I really didn't want to leave."(Naomi, festival project)
