Seychelles has many beautiful islands bit Aride Island is arguably the best and is one of the most pristine tropical nature reserves in the world. Aride is one of the most important seabird islands in the Indian Ocean with more breeding species than any other island in Seychelles including the world’s largest populations of two species. Five endemic land birds breed. Hawksbill Turtles nest, the fragrant Wright’s Gardenia occurs in its natural state only here, the coral reef is rich in marine life and there is one of the densest lizard populations in the world.
We are seeking volunteers for 3 to 6 month positions at Aride Island Nature Reserve. Volunteers should ideally possess:
1. A degree in a biological science and/or useful practical skills or IT skills plus
2. A good level of fitness and the ability to swim
ICS will contribute £375 towards your international flight and provide free accommodation on Aride. Volunteers are responsible for living expenses.
