The aim of this programme is to help to conserve a part of the Ecuadorian Cloud Forest by participating in tree planting, trail work, research activities, sustainable living and food production as well as community projects and Capuchin Monkey and large mammal research.
I found the reserve not only inspiring but can also see how for many the peace, being surrounded by such an abundance of biodiversity and gentle contribution would also be therapeutic and highly restful. Jessica Bavington, UK
Click to watch a short documentary about organic food production, conservation and sustainability in the Ecuadorian Cloud Forest, created by previous volunteer Hollie Abbott from the UK.
Volunteers can take part in Cloud Forest Conservation & Sustainable Food Production and Building and we also offer a short-term Volunteer Experience Package for Families, and a Travelling, Volunteering, Learning (TVL) programme for large groups, and a Long-Term Capuchin Monkey research project. Independent research projects are also available for students.
The Cloudforest Reserve is located in the cloud forest of Pichincha province, 90 kilometers from Quito (the capital of Ecuador) and is located up the hill from the small community of La Esperie.
During your free time, there are plenty of activities both inside and outside the reserve, including walks through the cloud forest and along streams and waterfalls, bird watching, horseback riding, night hikes, kayaking and rafting and more.
