Project Costs

Volunteer giving conservation lecture in ValenciaThe cost to volunteer in Valencia on a Conservation project for 2 weeks is £880, with each extra week costing £200. The cost to volunteer on the Coastal & Marine conservation project in Denia for 2 weeks is £980, with each extra week costing £240.

The above costs include your volunteer placement, accommodation in a private single room in a fully equipped shared local apartment (from the Sunday before your project start date until check out on a following Saturday), airport pickup on arrival, scuba diving taster session (Denia location only), pre-departure advice & information, orientation & training, city tour & leisure activities, participation certificate, coordination & support and access to a 24 hour emergency phone.

Optional extras include; Spanish lessons (20 lessons per week, costs approx £180 per week), Open Water PADI diving qualification (Denia location only – costs approx £330), and alternative accommodation options are available either in a double private room in the apartments (e.g. if you are traveling with a friend/partner/as a family) or in a homestay with a local family & 2 meals per day provided (please ask for details – info@workingabroad.com).

What’s not included are your flights to and from Spain, travel insurance, meals, visa (if required), police check (if required), local transportation (you can expect to spend around 15 Euros per week on public transport), or return airport transfer (though we can arrange this if you would like, at an extra cost).

Payment Terms

Volunteer holding a sea turtle in DeniaTo secure your place as a conservation volunteer in Spain, you will need to fill out the online application form along with your application payment of £180 (this is included in the total costs listed above). If for some reason, your application is not accepted, we would reimburse this payment fully. However, for those who are accepted, the remaining balance needs to be paid two months before departure. Once you have been accepted, you will receive a Volunteer Information Package with all detailed information on your project, suggested items to bring etc.

Project Dates

Below are the available starting dates for each location. You can volunteer in Spain for a minimum of 2 weeks, with no maximum stay. We can also accept families with children & large groups for this project, and you may be eligible for discounted rates, please email us if you are interested.

Please note, the dates below represent when you would start volunteering. You should aim to arrive the Sunday before your project start date for your airport pickup. The last day of your project would be a Saturday, though extra nights stay can be arranged at an extra cost.

Please also note that the conservation project in Valencia is not available during the month of August.
