Coral in great barrier reef

To secure your placement on the project, you will need to complete and submit the application form with your application payment of £195 (included in the total project costs listed above). If for some reason your application is not accepted, we will reimburse this payment fully. However, for those who are accepted, 20% of the balance amount needs to be paid within 7 days of being confirmed on the project,  with the remainder (80%) to be paid 2 months before your arrival to the project.  Once we have confirmed your place, you will receive an information package on the project background, your role as an intern, the work you will do, suggested items to bring, how to travel there and so on.

Project Dates

You can join this project for either 2 weeks, 3 weeks or 4 weeks. We start all programmes on the first Monday of every month and finish on a Friday. Currently, we accommodate a maximum of 12 interns per period. Below are the available dates for this project. Please note that your accommodation is covered from the Sunday before arrival to the Sunday after your project ends, so please aim to arrive/leave on those dates, and your working dates are Monday to the Friday that you end on (2 or 4 weeks later).

It is important to note that the schedule is not a set schedule. We are flexible and also work with your interests. The reef days are set as 1 the first week and 2 the consequent weeks but this is also dependent on weather. In Cairns, during our summer months it is possible to get cyclones and so we are not able to head out during those times but will attempt to make it up in subsequent weeks if possible.
