The cost to volunteer in South Africa is £415 for 1 week, £635 for 2 weeks, £795 for 3 weeks and £995 for 4 weeks – this includes all food and lodging costs.

For volunteers joining for 5 weeks or more, the pricing does not include food, so volunteers have to cover their own food costs and prepare their own meals. The cost for 5 weeks is £695, 6 weeks is £795, 7 weeks is £895, 8 weeks is £995, 9 weeks is £1095, 10 weeks is £1195 and 12 weeks is £1395.    Long term internships for students available on a case by case basis for up to 6 months.  Please enquire for more details.

Included in this price is accommodation, 3 meals per day (only for volunteers joining for 1-4 weeks), field experience, laundry and cleaning, transport to and from work, internet during work, one on one mentoring and WorkingAbroad backup and support. What is not included is your flights and travel to and from the project, visa costs, personal expenses, and your own health and travel insurance.

Payment Terms

To secure your placement on the project, you will need to complete and submit the application form with your application payment of £195 (included in the total project costs listed above). If for some reason, your application is not accepted, we will reimburse this payment fully. However, for those who are accepted, you will need to pay 25% of the balance within 14 days of being accepted on the programme, with the remaining 75% of the balance to be paid two months before arrival. Once we have confirmed your place, you will receive a pre-departure package with all detailed information on the project, details on the work, suggested items to bring etc.

Project Dates

All volunteers should start on a Tuesday and you can join for a minimum of 2 weeks up to 12 weeks in duration (long-term internships are also available providing you can get a suitable visa). If you want to start on a Tuesday that is not listed above, that will be fine, all Tuesday starts are accepted – please just note this on your application form.
