Maldives Volunteer in the Maldives

"Working in Naifaru as a volunteer, developing environmental activities with the community and volunteers was amazing."

Adolfo Marques, Brazil

The Maldives is an incredible stretch of coral atolls in the Indian Ocean renowned for its idyllic beaches and marine life.  The nation may look small on the surface, but you shouldn’t be deceived: surrounding the various islands are incredible underwater worlds.  Brightly coloured tropical fish wind their way through intricate coral jungles and deep into magnificent caves.  While in deeper waters, manta rays, sharks and turtles roam freely.  Onshore, the white-sand beaches look like they may just have been plucked from someone’s dreams of paradise and dropped in the middle of the deep ocean.

Traditionally the island communities are very close-knit and friendly.  As a volunteer in the Maldives, it is not difficult to find a sense of peace below the palm trees listening to folklore derived from thousands of years of fishermen communities.  Described by many as having some of the most scenic landscapes in the world, the Maldives is definitely not somewhere to miss out on.
